Meet Esmeralda

Esmeralda is a playful 2 year old St. Jude patient who loves playing with her dollies and watching Dora the Explorer. When Esmeralda was found to suffer from Wilms tumor, a type of kidney cancer, her family turned to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital for help.


Each year, over 15,000 children in the United States are diagnosed with cancer. That’s 15,000 families devastated with news that their little ones are about to fight a terrifying disease and will face surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation, and worse.

For over 50 years, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital has been a beacon of hope for these families battling childhood cancer. Families that reach out to St. Jude for help are never charged a penny - not for treatment, travel, housing, or food.

“...Because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”

Since opening 50 years ago, the advancement of treatments at St. Jude have increased the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to over 80%. Along with their highly skilled and dedicated faculty and staff, St. Jude has donations to thank for making their life saving mission possible.

Every donation counts to help save the lives of these precious children and aid these families during the most difficult days of their lives.

Benefit Auction - Donate, Bid, and Save Lives

Our hearts here at BigIron have always held a special place for St. Jude and the children they treat. Over ten years ago, BigIron held its first annual benefit auctions at Husker Harvest Days farm show in Grand Island, NE. In the last eleven years, BigIron has raised over $475,000 donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

This was made possible not only by those attending and participating in the auction, but by the generous donations from local businesses and vendors at Husker Harvest Days. We reach out to these companies year after year and they contribute items to be auctioned off at the two benefit auctions on the Tuesday and Wednesday of the farm show.

Donate an Auction Item

Submit our donor's form with your contact information, the description of the auction item you're donating, and how we will be receiving the item. We have the option available to pick the item up from your booth at Husker Harvest Days.

Items will be picked up that day following the auction (a certificate will be presented for seed, fuel, and service items). We will be accepting cash, checks, and credit cards.
